Plan the Simulator Room
We give your team the clearances, blocking, power, pre-wire and HVAC notes a golf simulator room needs, then install and calibrate the simulator after finishes.
One simulator partner for every trade
A golf simulator touches framing, electrical, HVAC, low voltage and finishes. We plan all of it with your team so the room is ready when our installers arrive.
Ceiling height and layout
We set the hitting position, screen wall and clearances for the launch monitor your client wants, so the room is framed to the right size the first time.
Framing and blocking
We give your framer the locations for blocking in the screen wall and ceiling for the enclosure, projector mount and any overhead launch monitor.
Pre-wire and low voltage
Our team runs the network, video, speaker and control wiring before drywall, and installs it all at trim-out. This is the work we do ourselves.
Electrical
We hand your electrician the circuit, outlet and lighting locations, including power on the ceiling for the projector and in the equipment cabinet.
HVAC
The PC, projector and a few golfers add heat to a closed room. We flag supply and return needs and keep diffusers away from the screen so air does not move it.
Lighting and control
As a division of Boston Automations we can tie the room into the home's lighting control, audio and automation, or keep it standalone.
Room spec checklist
Typical specs for a full simulator bay. We confirm every item against the room and the launch monitor before your team builds.
Room size and framing
- Finished ceiling of 10 ft in the swing area (9 ft minimum), measured to the lowest beam, duct, soffit or fixture
- Clear floor area of 12 ft wide by 16 ft deep; 18 ft or more of depth for floor-standing radar launch monitors such as TrackMan 4
- Screen wall flat and plumb, with no doors, windows, outlets or switches in the screen area
- Blocking in the screen wall and ceiling for the enclosure frame and projector mount, at locations we provide
- No posts, soffits, sprinkler heads or light fixtures inside the swing zone
- Level slab or subfloor ready for turf over a pad; flag any slope in a garage
Electrical
- Dedicated 20 A circuit serving the simulator PC and projector
- Ceiling outlet at the projector location
- Outlets at the PC or equipment cabinet
- Power at the launch monitor position: floor outlet near the hitting area, or a ceiling outlet for an overhead unit
- Room lighting on dimmers, with fixtures kept out of the swing zone and aimed away from the screen
Pre-wire and low voltage
- Cat6 from the network rack to the PC location
- Video run from the PC to the projector (Cat6 for HDBaseT, or a rated HDMI cable), plus a spare pull string
- Cat6 to an overhead launch monitor position, if one is planned
- Speaker wire to in-wall or in-ceiling speaker locations
- Wire to a touchscreen, TV or seating area display, if planned
- Conduit from the equipment location to the screen wall and to the ceiling
HVAC and ventilation
- Supply and return air sized for the PC, projector and several people
- Diffusers placed so air does not blow across the impact screen
- Ventilated PC cabinet or a nearby equipment closet
Finishes and acoustics
- Dark, matte paint on the walls and ceiling near the screen to keep the image sharp
- Insulation in the ceiling and walls when bedrooms or offices adjoin the room
- Solid-core door to keep impact noise in the room

How to bring us into a project
Send the plans
Use the form below and upload plans, a sketch or photos in step two. Tell us the client's launch monitor if they have one in mind.
We mark them up
We return the hitting position, clearances, blocking, electrical and low-voltage locations and HVAC notes for your team.
Rough-in visit
We pre-wire and walk the framing with your site lead before drywall, so nothing has to be opened up later.
Install and hand over
After finishes we install the enclosure, screen, projector and launch monitor, calibrate everything and train the owner.

Use your own contact details and the project address. Upload plans or photos in step two, and add the client's name and your role in the notes at the end.
Questions from builders
During design or before framing. Ceiling height, blocking and wiring are easy to plan on paper and expensive to change after drywall. If the room is already framed, we can still work with it.
