Golf Simulator Installation on the South Shore South Shore Golf Simulators

Antique colonials in Hingham and Duxbury, coastal houses in Scituate and Marshfield, and new construction in Plymouth.

The South Shore is close to our shop in Norwood, and it is one of the places we hear from most. The houses here run from 18th-century colonials to new construction, often in the same town, and the right room for a simulator changes a lot from one to the next.

We handle the full project. That means the room design, the simulator and the screen, installation, calibration, training and service afterward. When the room needs construction, we work with your builder or bring in local trades and manage them.

South Shore houses

Hingham, Cohasset, Duxbury and Norwell have a lot of antique and historic houses. Their basements are usually low, with fieldstone foundations, big beams and the occasional wet spring. A full swing rarely fits down there. Barns, carriage houses and attached garages added in later decades are often the better choice, and some of those outbuildings have plenty of height once they are cleaned out and heated.

Scituate and Marshfield have many coastal homes in flood zones. A lot of the newer or rebuilt houses near the water are raised, with garages and storage underneath and the living space above. Rooms below the flood elevation are a poor place for electronics. In those houses we look first at bonus rooms, rooms over the garage, or a dedicated room on the main level.

Plymouth, Kingston, Pembroke and Hanover have more new construction, including communities like The Pinehills. Newer houses here often have full basements and attached garages. If you are building, involve us before the foundation is poured so we can ask for the ceiling height the room needs.

Farther south, Carver, Marion and Mattapoisett have farmhouses, cranberry-country properties with outbuildings, and waterfront homes on Buzzards Bay. We cover those towns from the same team.

Coastal weather and storms

Nor'easters are a fact of life on the South Shore, and they decide where the simulator should not go. Keep the projector, computer and launch monitor out of any space that can take on water, and out of garages that are not heated or dehumidified. Salt air near the water speeds up corrosion on electronics left in damp rooms.

Inland towns like Norwell and Hanover deal more with damp basements in spring. We check for water before we design, and we will recommend a dehumidifier if the room needs one.

Rooms that work on the South Shore

Barns and carriage houses

Many older South Shore properties have one. They usually have plenty of height, and the noise stays out of the house.

Rooms over the garage

A good fit for raised coastal houses where the ground level sits in the flood zone.

Basement bays in newer homes

Plymouth and Pembroke builds often have the basement depth for a full bay if the ceiling allows.

Fold-away systems

When no room can be given up, a Murphy simulator folds into cabinetry in a den or office.

How a project runs on the South Shore

South Shore jobs are close for us, so site visits are easy to book. For houses near the water, we plan deliveries around tides and storms where that matters, and we will want to see where water has come in before. Most residential installs take two to five days on site.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about the room

Use the design form to send photos and rough measurements. We reply within one business day with a first read on whether a simulator fits.

  2. Step 2

    Site visit

We laser-measure the room and model swing clearance for every player in the house, then look at power, lighting, ventilation and where the equipment will live.

  3. Step 3

    Design and proposal

You get a room plan and one price covering the simulator, screen, enclosure, installation, calibration and training.

  4. Step 4

    Room preparation

If the room needs framing, electrical or HVAC work, we coordinate it with your builder or bring in local trades and manage them.

  5. Step 5

    Installation

Most residential rooms take two to five days on site. Rooms that need construction first take longer.

  6. Step 6

    Calibration, training and service

We calibrate the launch monitor, set up your software and courses, train everyone who will use it, and stay on call afterward.

Common questions

Can a simulator go in a house in a flood zone?
Yes, but not in the part of the house that can flood. We put the room and the electronics above the flood level, usually in a bonus room, a room over the garage or the main level.
We have an antique house in Hingham with a low basement. What are our options?
Usually a barn, carriage house or garage. If none of those fit, a fold-away system in a larger room is the next choice. We measure before recommending anything.
Do you serve Plymouth and The Pinehills?
Yes. Plymouth is a normal drive for us from Norwood.
Can you work with the builder already doing our renovation?
Yes. Many simulator rooms are part of a larger renovation. We send your builder the room dimensions, power and blocking we need, and we schedule the install for when their work is done.
